Rugby player Mark Wilson was our very first public patron and is delighted to be part of the Friends of High Borrans team.
Flanker Mark joined the Falcons full-time in the summer of 2010. A former student at Northumbria University, the big Cumbrian played his first rugby for local club Kendal, before making the move across the Pennines.
A captain of England Students during 2009-10 and with a fantastic first full season at Kingston Park, Mark won the Academy Player of the Season award.
With a keen interest in Cumbria and the outdoors, Mark is helping to raise awareness of the Centre and the full range of activities available. He often comes to High Borrans to meet the young people who are visiting, and takes part in the Young Leader’s Award scheme by attending the annual sponsored abseil off the tower at Segedunum Roman Fort, the prestigious Young Leader’s celebration dinner during the High Borrans residential, as well as the awards ceremony in Wallsend at the end of the year. We are thrilled to have him on board.
